New Delhi: Ever took a flight after a long working day, looking to relax whatever little you can, and getting comfortable in your seat? What if the passenger behind you gets angry for you reclining your seat?
A Similar incident that recently happened on an American Airlines flight, a video of a passenger punching the reclining seat of a woman sitting in front of him has gone viral. Following which, Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a guideline named “etiquette of flying”
Along with an Illustration of a reclined seat on a flight, a tweet by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, said “A little bit of basic good manners and respect are always worth a thumbs up. Your seat is not a sleeper berth. Don’t be inconsiderate of other people’s space,”
It Continues to advise the flyers “With the limited space you have if you must recline, do it carefully. Always think about the people around you because no one wants your head in their laps.”
While many agreed that reclining of seats can be a nuisance to passenger sitting behind, others made demanded more legroom. Here is what some Twitter users had to say
A passenger of American Airlines recently shared a video of an angry man sitting behind her, punching her reclined seat, “I’ve decided to share my assault, from the passenger behind me, and the further threats, from an American Airline flight attendant. She offered him a complimentary cocktail,” She Tweeted.
While the reclining of seats remains a matter of discussion, the reality is that Aviation is a difficult business to survive in, and every inch of space can make a difference in these competitive times to stay profitable.
As the Oil prices reach skies, Airlines are having to cut down on any additional expenses and efficiently using the space on each aircraft, a part of the responsibility lies with passengers to be considerate of their fellow passengers, be it the reclining of seats or any other concern
