Following the updates received from several authorities, airlines, consumer bodies and passengers. TAAI, in a letter, addressed to all its members has requested them to process the refunds back to their customers for whom refunds have already been issued by the airlines.
The Letter further stated that the members have the liberty to charge a nominal fee/service charge for their efforts of undertaking a tedious and complicated process of processing the refunds through RA/GDS mechanism on the IATA portal or with low-cost careers
It further explained how most of the airlines have refunded the airlines to the member travel agents, following the efforts and by the organisation.
Although few airlines like Air India, SpiceJet, Thai Airways, Kenya Airways etc are yet to process the refunds as desired, and in accordance with the Directions of Hon. Supreme Court and DGCA, the efforts are still on, to persuade the said airlines to process the refunds through the intervention of MoCA.
