As a part of the new quarantine system, due to be enforced from Monday next week, residents of the UK & Ireland, returning from the red list countries will now have to pay £1750 to be in quarantine in an assigned hotel room for 10 days, starting from the day of arrival. The travellers have been advised to book the hotel room via an online platform and pay the fees. This fee will include the cost for hotel, transport and testing. Government has booked 16 hotels amounting to 4600 rooms for these travellers
The Countries that currently appear in the red list (subject to change) are: Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Burundi, Cape Verde, Chile, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Eswatini, French Guiana, Guyana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal (including Madeira and the Azores), Rwanda, Seychelles, South Africa, Suriname, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Uruguay, Venezuela, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
