New Delhi: Issuing the guidelines for tourist visas, the Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the Visas will only be issued for tourists entering through water or flight routes. Foreigners travelling through land borders will not be granted visas.
The tourist and e-visa will be a single-entry visa for a month only instead of the double-entry given earlier. Existing visas will continue to remain suspended, according to the guideline.
On October 7, the Home Ministry announced that restrictions on visas and international travel would be eased. Foreigners can enter India from October 15 on tourist visas only on chartered flights, which are bubble flights under Vande Bharat mission or any scheduled or non-scheduled commercial flights allowed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. From November 15, all tourists will be allowed to enter India, after following the Covid protocol.
