The Indian government has withdrawn the reciprocal measures adopted in the revised guidelines, for travellers from the United Kingdom.
On October 13, the Ministry of Health said that the guidelines issued on February 17 will now be applied to all UK citizens.
Although the UK had recognised the Covishield vaccine, fully vaccinated travellers from India to the UK still had to undergo a 10-day quarantine. The Central government issued revised guidelines on October 1 to impose similar travel curbs with mandatory quarantine for all UK nationals, even if they were fully vaccinated. This was to be implemented from October 4.
On October 7, UK removed the quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated Indian travellers. The vaccines include all those recognized by the UK government including Covishield. In response, India also withdrew the stringent rules for UK travellers.
