Permission for hosting the Sunburn electronic dance music festival in Goa has not been given to the promoters yet. It is pending with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, said the State Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar on Monday.
Percept Live, the organisers of the music event, had said on Sunday that the 15th edition of the festival will be held in Goa. Only fully vaccinated people will be allowed at the festival.
The Tourism Minister asked the Director of Tourism to enquire how the organisers are promoting the event without receiving any government permission.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that If the Covid situation is under control, the festival will be hosted in Goa.
Ajgaonkar opined that such events should be held as they attract the “richest tourists”. It is noteworthy to mention that on October 19, he had said that Goa was looking to attract the “richest tourists” and did not want low-budget travellers visiting the state.
