Air India and AccesRail have signed an intermodal interline agreement to improve connectivity for Air India clients across Europe, especially smaller locations without airports.

The agreement allows Air India guests to travel on a single intermodal ticket and take seamless, on-ground train and bus connections to over 100 cities and towns in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, and the UK via Amsterdam, Birmingham, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Milan, and Vienna. It also gives Air India clients the same luggage allowance on rail and bus operator services as on its own aircraft.

AccesRail, an IATA travel partner with designator number 9B, allows intermodal travels on a single ticket.

Air India Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer Nipun Aggarwal stated, “Our global network expansion is one of our key priorities in the ongoing, comprehensive transformation of Air India. This relationship with AccesRail allows us provide our customers convenient access to an expanding network of European locations and overcome India-Europe connection gaps.”

AccesRail Vice President Business Development Andrew Popescu stated, “We are excited to launch our Air India-AccesRail cooperation and look forward to continuing with Air India on a global scale with so many of our intermodal rail and coach partners. This increased AccesRail collaboration will allow Air India to offer its customers additional destinations and options more seamlessly today and in the future.
