Virtual Summit by ETTravelworld.com

The debilitating impact of COVID-19 on the travel industry is a great cause of concern for all. However, domestic tourism serves as the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. Speaking to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort this Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged every Indian citizen to visit 15 domestic destinations by 2022. With hindsight, the suggestion seems almost prophetic. With COVID-19 throwing a spanner in the works of global travel, domestic tourism may save the day for most tour operators once the pandemic is behind us.

As every business adjusts to the concept of the ‘new normal’ travel companies and state tourism boards are also working on new measures to help rebuild the trust of travellers.

In its first-ever virtual summit, ETTravelWorld.com gets together stakeholders from the travel and hospitality industry to debate the way in which they can change the narrative and rebuild the industry, ground upwards.
